To ensure that Epiroc’s accommodations and meeting space lived up to both the company’s standards and the reputation that the region was known for, we conducted intensive research into dozens of hotels and resort-style locations throughout the area before choosing Taboo Muskoka, a lakeside golf resort located in Gravenhurst. We chose Taboo based on its amenities – 4.5-star accommodations, three restaurants, a plethora of activities and a responsive and attentive on-site coordinator who helped us arrange planned activities and catering.
The morning hours of each day of the retreat was dedicated to executive meetings, thus the ability to access a fully equipped meeting space with full A/ capabilities as well as catering on-site allowed the meetings to be conducted in a productive and effective manner, without the attendees having to leave the resort grounds.
During the retreat, the first few hours of each day were allocated to executive meetings to discuss a variety of topics, including debriefing on previous months and strategic planning for future endeavours. Therefore, it was important to ensure we could provide a fully equipped meeting space with AV capabilities and the option to cater in food and beverage so the meetings could continue on productively and effectively without having to leave the hotel grounds.
Our goal of the retreat was to help Epiroc celebrate their team members and provide them with an exciting and memorable experience. We brainstormed a number of team-building activities, and, with the help of the onsite coordinator, planned a boat tour, a private mixology class, archery lessons, a guided mountain bike tour and much more.
We began by developing a detailed itinerary which included dates and arrival times for each guest, restaurant reservation details, meeting times and locations, and activity details such as attire, packing details and transportation information.
Along with the wonderful team at Taboo Muskoka, we were able to execute an exceptional corporate retreat, where guests participated in productive team meetings, took part in curated team-building activities, and indulged in delicious and plentiful meal and drink options. The team was able to work together effectively in the mornings, while the afternoons and evenings were spent mixing and mingling with coworkers and friends.
